Risqué Designs is a Filipino lifestyle brand that brings forth modernity and luxury with its meticulously hand-crafted artisan products.
From the far-flung communities of Negros Occidental and Paete, Laguna, to the busy show town of Marikina City, Risqué fuses various Filipino materials, craftsmanship and inspirations to create both ready-to-wear and ready-for-runway for footwear pieces.
Risqué envisions a revival of traditional crafts to be competitive with global brands, thus fostering a surge in demand for age-old skills such as loom-weaving, wood-carving and shoe-making.
Risqué has consistently been exhibiting in Manila FAME International since 2013 and has even participated in the New York NOW Trade Fair in New York in 2015. Risqué has its own 180 square meter production facility and showroom in Marikina. It also recently opened it’s first pop-up shop in Glorietta Mall, Makati.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Tal de Guzman is the founder and main designer of Risqué. She graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Art Management, but later on took additional courses in Fashion Design from the School of Fashion and the Arts, and Entrepreneurship from The One School.
She has always had an affinity for local handicrafts and has made it her life’s work to be a medium for transforming traditional crafts into modern designs. She dreams of growing Risqué both in local and global markets — telling the story of the Filipino one shoe at a time.
